Isostearic Acid

The major function of Isostearic acid is, it acts as a compound which resists oxidation. When added to any formulation form, it increases the softness and has a film forming tendency.

Isostearic acid is a branch chain fatty acid molecule with an 18-carbon atom chain backbone. It is an isomer of stearic acid.

Isostearic acid has wide range of applications, it is mainly used as an additive in adhesives for both paints and personal care products. It is also used as an industrial lubricant, used as metal working fluids, used in oil fields and has found recent application in electrical vehicles.
